Ingredients
- 2 tins of prunes in apple juice
- 120 millilitres water
- 120 grams plain flour
- 60 grams demerara sugar
- 60 grams butter at room temperature, cut into pieces
Instructions
- Place your butter and flour into a mixing bowl and gradually rub between your fingertips continuously to combine. Continue for several minutes until you have a crumbly mixture
- Pour the sugar into the butter and flour and stir through. At this point you can also add a handful of oats if you wish
- Drain your cans of prunes and place into a baking or pie dish. Pour over the water
- Top the prunes with the crumble topping (sprinkle over a little more demerara sugar if you fancy)
- Bake in the oven at 190 (170 fan) for 30 minutes or until golden
- Serve with lashings of hot vanilla custard
